About us
Who are we and what is our objective?
Our club was established on 12 January 2007 and we aim to bring together all Estonian bowhunters and hunters interested in shooting on 3D targets and bowhunting in Estonia.
With the help of our members and sponsors we acquired 28-target 3D course in order to provide bowhunting opportunities for those interested in shooting on 3D targets, and organised spring training camp in Kütiorg Valley, which will hopefully become an annual tradition. We have been to various competitions abroad and have also established contacts with our first friendship clubs.
Although the process of legalisation of bowhunting in Estonia, which is our main long-term goal, is still in its very early stage, the meetings and negotiations with the Estonian Hunters’ Society have been successful and we have come to a conclusion that the time is right for introduction of bowhunting in Estonia.
Yours faithfully,
Rita-Anette Kohava
Board member of the non-profit association Bowhunters (MTÜ Mägilased)

Managers of hunting organisations to be presented with the basics of bowhunting
On 19 September the executive managers of the member organisations of the Estonian Hunters’ Society met at Kajamaa to discuss the issue of „Theoretical and practical introduction to the „hunting grounds” of bowhunting“. Bowhunting has gained many supporters during recent years.
Tom of Kajamaa (Toomas Taimla) gave a competent and emotional lecture on that issue to the managers of Estonian hunting organisations.
International programme is available for obtaining education on bowhunting („International Bowhunter Education Program”), completion of which grants the right to practice it in the countries where bowhunting is legal. As for Estonian hunters, the first five people have completed that programme and are currently proud holders of international bowhunting licence.
Based on the Hunters’ Reunion held this summer and the meeting of managers of hunting organisations at Kajamaa on 19 September we may say that our hunters are ready to accept the new way of hunting. Apparently the time has come to legalise bowhunting in our country as well.
